Lead Application/Platform Support - Zurich - SystemRS - HELP

Our financial client in Zurich is seeking a Application/Platform Support to join their team in a permanent position. The candidate would typically be a hands on technical lead flexible to learn and support new technologies/applications.

The candidate would fit the following profile:

  • Minimal 5 years proven experience leading a support function team (preferably Finance industry)
  • Experienced supporting Java applications running on Unix environments (Ubuntu)
  • Experience of supporting Trading environments
  • Handling incidents with Engineers/Database Engineers and Development within a timely manner
  • Experienced writing retrospectives and working with relevant stakeholders to identify root cause for incidents
  • You have experience supporting and coordinating BCM exercises
  • Managing on-call rota with team individuals
  • Experienced working with external vendors for outsourced services
  • Should have good availability to support priority incidents and colleagues
  • Willing to build strong working relationships with clients/IT colleagues
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing services/platform
  • Experienced supporting and implementing with deployment tools
  • Communicate effectively with team and stakeholders to gain shared understanding of strategic requirements
  • Creating/updating knowledge documents and reviewing with team during formal knowledge sharing sessions
  • Management reporting and ad-hoc reporting
  • Ensures teams are ready to support applications once in production and drive improvements in operational readiness.

Skillset expectation:

  • Experienced supporting applications running on both Windows and Unix environments
  • Experience supporting Cloud environments would be a bonus
  • Proven experience implementing monitoring solutions (preferably ElasticSearch/Nagios)
  • Proven experience working with centralized logging solutions (Kibana would be preferable)
  • GIT/JIRA/Confluence administration
  • Implement and Support company batches via Control-M (batch control tool)
  • Experience with Nolio deployment tool would be beneficial
  • Ability to act as an Incident Manager to support/coordinate/communicate with relevant stakeholders
  • Worked with docker/Kubernetes would be beneficial
  • Expected to be hands on to debug incidents with various stakeholders
  • Flexible to learn new technologies and will be comfortable to train employees where required
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates IT operations staff and aligns to the IT and business strategy
